This was an assignment to create a prospective title sequence for a book, thus I chose Haruki Murakami's "The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle".

 

I took major inspiration from the book's paperback cover, which features a really nice composition made from ink drops in water, so I decided to test that out myself. After a failed attempt or two (this stuff is kinda difficult), I got some nice shots that I then keyed in AE and changed the colors around a little bit. After some suggestions, I decided inverting the colors was a far better way to go, as the edges turned out a lot more crisp and the color contrast was a bit more stark. All in all, a fun experience - 10/10 would do again for sure.
